Henry Schoellhorn III passed on a few years ago. He was a Geophysist and a very interesting man. He was working for Caltex in Sumatra when I knew him. This writing presents a picture of doodlebugging at his level, during the more formative years of the seismic industry.

The following chapters are from a book he had been writing for a long time. I don't know if he ever finished it. Presently, I am editing his manuscript that he had corrected. It's a slow process. Henry Bilke transcribed the first thirty pages into something that could be scanned into an Optical Character Recognition program, and thus imported into MicroSoft Word, without having to re-type the pages.
